History
The church was formed following a crusade in Devizes with AoG evangelist Melvin Banks, when a group of people responded to the Gospel.
After the crusade, Melvin approached Michael and Helen Boot who were at that time pioneering a church in the nearby town of Marlborough. They accepted the call and in June 1986 took over the leadership of the new church here in Devizes.
The new group of Christians became the nucleus of an Assemblies of God Pentecostal Church which was to become known as Devizes Christian Fellowship in 1990.
When the Boots left to work overseas in Pakistan, the leadership of the Church was taken on by Dave and Pam Hamilton.
Under the leadership of Dave and Pam the Church moved into its present home in New Park Street. The building is known as Salem Chapel and was built in 1838.
Dave and Pam moved on from the church to serve God in Spain after serving for a number of years.
The Church was able to operate under the name of 'The Lighthouse Centre, Devizes' from 2007.
